Saudi Arabia hosts UN conference on world poverty

Riyadh on Saturday will host at the UN office the World Bank conference for development in the world and for alleviation of poverty 2000- 2001.
In its three- day deliberations, the conference will discuss plans on which economics of the indebted countries should be built and canceling accumulated debts on them.
The conference will discuss the establishment of developmental projects at the supervision of the world bank in the poor countries instead of providing loans.
The resident economist at the World Bank team in Riyadh Brajabati Trifidi explained that choosing Riyadh to host the conference was based on Saudi Arabia contributions in the programs to reduce poverty in the world.
World Bank's statistics indicate that among the world population totaled 6 billion some 2.8 billions has an average income of per capita of US $ 2 per day, while some 1.2 billion persons of am income of less than US $ one per month.
