Moussa in Madrid discusses bilateral relations, ME peace process
Egypt-Spain, Politics, 1/30/2001
The Egyptian foreign minister Amr Moussa today holds official talks during his visit to Spain with the Spanish foreign minister Jose Peket dealing with bilateral relations, the developments of the ME peace process and international issues of joint interest.
Talks will also deal with the possibility of signing a cooperation agreement between Egypt and Spain in the area of transport and communications. This is, however, an ambitious agreement which covers the air, land and sea transport and cooperation in the field of the railways.
It is expected, on the other hand, that the Spanish prime minister Jose Aznar to visit Egypt on February 12 and 13 at the invitation of the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak he extended to Aznar during his recent visit to Spain.
Aznar's talks in Cairo will deal with current developments in the ME peace process, developments concerning the Euro-Mediterranean co-operation as well as co-operation between the two sides in the area of revitalizing the decisions of the Euro-African summit resolutions which were held in Cairo in April, 2000 as well as strengthening bilateral relations in the economic field.
