Sharon confers with American delegation
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 1/30/2001

Chairman of the Israeli Likud Party Ariel Sharon has threatened to take all measures against the Palestinians if they declare the establishment of the Palestinian state in the West Bank without the consent of Israel.

The Israeli radio said that Sharon, in a document he presented on Sunday evening to a group representing members of the US Congress, currently visiting Tel Aviv, accused the Palestinians of launching what he called a long term war of attrition in which they will declare the establishment of the independent state without Israel's consent.

On Sunday Sharon said that, if he wins the chairmanship of the next Israeli government, he will not any sign agreement with the Palestinians and also refuses withdrawal from the occupied territories, foremost being Jerusalem and the demolishing of the Israeli settlements on it.
