Malaysia to participate in Bahrain's port project
Bahrain-Malaysia, Economics, 1/29/2001
A Malaysia-Bahrain Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has paved the way for Malaysian companies to participate in Bahrain's new $ 500 million Salman Port project, says Malaysian news agency (BERNAMA).
The MOU, on cooperation in the transportation sector, was signed here Sunday by Malaysian transport minister Ling Liong Sik and Bahrain's finance and economy minister Abdullah Hassan Saif.
The agreement was signed after a meeting between Bahrain prime minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa and Malaysian peer Mahathir Mohamad.
The two prime ministers also supervised the signing of another MOU for the setting up of a joint commission on economic cooperation between the two countries. Shaikh Khalifa, who is leading a 55-member delegation from Bahrain, is on a three-day visit to Malaysia.
