Cheney, Powel to visit Saudi Arabia

The Saudi daily al-Watan said that the US vice President Dick Cheney and the secretary of state Colen Powel will visit Saudi Arabia in the last third of February in the framework of their tour in the region which will cover besides Saudi Arabia, each of Egypt and Israel.

The paper added quoting Western diplomatic sources that the aim of this tour is to search in the chances and dangers resulting from the current conditions in the Middle east and the possibility of resuming the peace process among the sides concerned as well as the situation in the Gulf.

The sources continued that the US President George Bush and members of his administration team is interested over establishing balanced relations in the Middle east and to achieving peace in the region.
