IMF new loan for Mauritania

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Friday approved a loan for Mauritania at a cost of US $ 8 million to be added to a similar loan in the framework of the initiative to help the most indebted countries.
News reports said that the IMF noted in a statement the need to commend the achievements of the Mauritanian authorities for its good economic performance with the great progress, especially in 2000 and small inflation and a notable level in the foreign currencies level.
Worthy mentioning that the loan is part of a program approved by the IMF for Mauritania in July 1999 reached US $ 55 million of which Nouakchott used US $ 16 million.
