Seif and the new party in Syria

The London- based al-Hayat daily said in its Friday's issue in a message from Damascus that the resigned Syrian member of parliament Riad Seif had preceded the issuance of the parties law by declaring a new political party which carried the name of the Social Peace Movement with the aim to include the generation of youths who was prevented from practicing democracy.

Seif told al-Hayat that a paper including the principles of the party will be distributed next Wednesday at the national dialogue forum to be discussed in open.

He indicated that the activity of this party will be away from the control of political trends which committed mistakes and were away from democracy when it practiced political work.

Seif added that there is a difference between his party and the society of " civil society friends" because the aim of our party is to prepare a base for social peace among all social strata within a logic and balanced relation."
