Abu al-Ragheb visits Egypt

Jordan's prime minister Ali Abu al-Ragheb will start tomorrow an official visit to Cairo which will last for two days during which he will hold with his Egyptian counterpart several bilateral issues especially trade and economic, the ME peace process developments and conditions in the region.

The Jordanian prime minister will attend the signing agreements which provide for transporting the Egyptian natural gas to each of Jordan, Syria and Lebanon through a pipeline that reaches these countries in the first phase and in its second phase will reach Turkey and Europe.

The oil ministers in each of Egypt, Syria and Lebanon signed by the end of 2000 a memorandum of understanding to install a sea gas pipeline under the Mediterranean waters extending from al-Areesh ( Egypt) to Lebanon and then Syria, Jordan and Turkey.
