Syrian ambassador submitted his credentials in Amman
Jordan-Syria, Politics, 1/26/2001
The Jordanian foreign minister Abdul Illah al-Khatib on Thursday received the new Syrian ambassador to Jordan Abdul Fattah Ammoura, who presented a copy of his credentials to the Jordanian foreign minister.
Ammoura, the first ambassador to be appointed more than 10 years in Jordan had arrived in Amman two days earlier.
Worthy mentioning before appointing Ammoura as an ambassador, the Syrian diplomatic representation in Amman was limited to the charge de affairs, while Jordan is represented in Damascus by an ambassador.
For several times Amman protested for that and called for appointing a Syrian ambassador to the Jordanian royal court.
Damascus announced that administrative problems had obstructed the appointment of an ambassador for it in Amman and this is has noting to do with political matters.
