Alexandria Library to be opened, July

Minister of Higher Education & State for Scientific Research Mofid Shehab said the project to revive the ancient Alexandria Library would be ready for inauguration as of next July with a total cost of$ 210 million. Shehab added that coordination is underway between the ministry and the UNESCO to prepare for the celebrations to be held on the occasion.
President Hosni Mubarak is to extend invitations to kings and presidents of world countries to attend the ceremonies.
On the other hand, a constituent meeting of the Alexandria Library Friends Association in Germany was held Wednesday to elect Helmut Schiffer, former minister of state for foreign affairs, as head of the association.
