House arrest lift for Bahraini opposition figure

The Bahraini authorities on Tuesday lifted the house- arrest imposed since one and a half years on the Bahraini opposition Sheikh Abdul Ameer al-Jabri Mansour al-Jabri, the son of Sheikh Abdul Ameer told reporter in al- Manama on Tuesday that the Bahraini authorities lifted the house- arrest measure imposed on his father without any prior notification.
Sheikh Abdul Ameer al-Jamri was arrested in January 1996 while Bahrain was witnessing acts of riots extended until 1999, during which the opposition called for returning back the parliament which was dissolved by the former ruler of the country in 1975.
