Kuwait, Iran sign cooperation agreement

The state of Kuwait and Iran have signed a bilateral cooperation agreement in the area of labor force transfer, social affairs and vocational training.

On the Kuwaiti side the agreement was signed by the minister of commerce and the industry and Abdul Wahab al-Wazan and on the Iranian side the agreement was signed by the minister of social affairs and Labor Hussein Kamali in the presence of senior officials representing the two sides.

Following the signing ceremony, Kamali said in a press conference that the two countries ' needs and requirements of various specialization of labor force to be provided for the Kuwaiti labor market especially specialized expertise in various economic, trade and health areas.

He expressed hope to developing economic relations between the two countries during the period of this agreement which is valid for 5 years.

The Iranian minister said the Iranian labor force in Kuwait counts 45,000 persons. He stressed the remarkable relations currently existed between Iran and the countries of the region. He stressed the importance of strengthening peace and stability in the region and people's need to improve their living conditions.

For his part, al-Wazzan said that Kuwait is careful to bring in specialized Iranian labor force especially engineers specialized in electronics, the computers and industry.

He added that Kuwait- Iranian relations are historical and developing especially in the field of trade and economic exchange.
