Jordan continues preparations to host the Arab summit
Jordan, Politics, 1/19/2001

Jordan's foreign minister Abdul Illah al-Khatib on Thursday met with the Arab ambassadors accredited to Jordan and briefed them on the preparations and arrangements carried out by the Jordanian government to host the Arab summit conference in the meeting for the rotating presidency of the summit in March in Amman.

Al-Khatib stressed the interest of the Jordanian King in this summit and his care to provide it a success so as to be a landmark in the march of the joint Arab work.

He also stressed the importance of earlier consultations among the Arab states concerning the agenda of the summit so as the Arab leaders to concentrate on basic and important issues.

He added that Jordan is careful to maintain coordination and consultation with all Arab states, members at the Arab League and to hear all views that would provide a success for the coming summit.
