Egypt's President Mubarak yesterday received Jassem Khorafi, the speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly and his accompanying delegation.
People's Assembly Speaker Ahmed Fathi Sorour, Chairman of the Arab Affairs Committee in the People's Assembly Ahmed Au Zaid and Kuwaiti Ambassador in Cairo Abdul Aal Solaiman Al Kenaei, attended the meeting that was held at the presidential Palace in Heliopolis.

He said Kuwait was looking forward to President Mubarak' visit to Kuwait soon, referring to President Mubarak keenness to follow up the issue of Kuwaiti prisoners in Iraq.
On the significance of the visit to Egypt by Iraqi Vice President Taha Yassin Ramadan and its timing, Khorafi said Egypt is the home of all Arabs adding concurrence of visits by Iraqi and Kuwaiti officials to Cairo was just a co-incidence adding' there was no link between the two visits at all.
Asked whether the visit by the Iraqi official would overshadow Egyptian Kuwaiti relations, adding the most important thing are the Egyptian decision's commitment to Kuwait's right.
He said his meetings with President Mubarak, Prime Minister Atef Ebeid, and Foreign Minister Amr Moussa reflected the Egyptian support for Kuwaiti rights and international legitimacy.
Answering a question on assertion by Iraqi officials that there were no Kuwaiti POWs, he said these statements would not help the issue categorically.
