Sudan: seven opposition members face death penalty

The Sudanese News agency said on Wednesday that seven Sudanese opposition members, accused of leaking military information to foreign sides and the use of violence against the authorities are facing death penalty.
These opposition figures belong to the local general secretariat of the democratic national coalition which includes the southern Sudan rebellions and Northern parties.
Worthy mentioning that the seven convicted persons were arrested on December 6th, 2000 during a meeting they held with the American diplomat Gleen Warren in one house in al-Khartoum. Few days after this meeting the Sudanese authorities decided to expel the said American diplomat.
