Gaza barrier negotiations attain no results
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 1/18/2001

Israeli military units have closed Jerusalem- Nablus road and carried out large-scale inspection operation for the Palestinian cars and this was followed by detention campaigns carried out directly by the Israeli settlers. The campaign of arrest also included the village of Selat al-Daher near Jenin under the pretext of taking part in the Intifada and then extended to Shafat camp near Jerusalem under the same charges.

This campaign of arrest included tens of Palestinian youths.

The Israeli settlers blocked the roads of Rafah, Khan Younis, Gaza and prevented the Arab citizens from using these roads.

News reports said that the Israeli settlers stressed their determination to destroy al-Aqsa Mosque and to build a Jewish Synagogue at the courtyard of the mosque, adding that they have prepared the needed cloths and machinery for their ceremonies to be held on this occasion.

Meantime, the Israeli settlers killed the Palestinian Khalil al-Awadi ( 37 year old) before two days and his body was found near Natsareim settlement settlement in Gaza after he was shot by the Israeli bullets.

The burial procession of al-Awadi was exposed to the Israeli fire and the Palestinians took part in the Eulogy vowed to revenge the killing of al-Awadi.
