Israel, Turkey, the US starts naval exercises today

Joint naval exercises started on Wednesday, as a third of its kind, between Israel, the US and Turkey, off the coasts of Israel. It will last for one day. Taking part in these exercises were two Turkish frigates, one American frigate and to Israeli warships carrying Saar missiles, as well as helicopters belong to the naval forces of the three countries.
Similar exercises took place on December 15, 1999. Both Turkey and Israel are linked to a framework agreement for military co-operation signed in February 1996.
