Israeli Rabbi calls for re-deployment in Gaza
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 1/17/2001

The Israeli rabbi Youssef Eil who is the chief of the Israeli settlers rabbis in the settlements of the West Bank has called on the Israeli army to re-occupy the cities of Gaza, Khan Younis and Rafah together with all areas supervised by the Palestinian Authority.

The israeli Hebrew language army radio on Tuesday quoted this rabbi saying that the Israeli army and settlers are ready to carry out instructions to this effect in case the Israeli government agrees on that.

He called on the Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak, in his capacity as a defense minister, to take what he called the appropriate decision in this regard and before it is too late, especially as all efforts and attempts so far made to calm down conditions in the West Bank and Gaza strip were complete failure.
