Mubarak arrived in Damascus
Syria-Egypt, Politics, 1/15/2001

President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt arrived today in Damascus. He is accompanied by an official delegation including the ministers of information, foreign affairs, electricity, oil, informatics and telecommunications and the President's advisor's for political affairs Osama al-Baz.

At Damascus airport President Mubarak was welcomed by President Bashar al-Assad, Prime minister, the two vice Presidents, the Cabinet ministers and high ranking officials.

At the damascus al-Shaab palace the two Presidents held a plenary meeting. It was attended by members of the Egyptian delegation accompanying President Mubarak and the Syrian two vice Presidents, the prime minister, the foreign minister al-Shara, the ministers of electricity and information and the minister for Presidential affairs Haitham Dweihi.

Then the plenary meeting was followed by a close door meeting, Syrian TV said.
