Israel fails to achieve its aims

Egypt's People's Assembly Foreign Relations Committee Deputy Head Mostafa Al-Fiqi said that Israel couldn't achieve what it wanted in spite of having alliances with superpowers, the foremost of which is the USA and in spite of having the state-of-the-art war machine.

Al-Fiqi termed such failure as a victory for the resistance spirit of the Arab Nation.

At a cultural intellectual forum, held at the small theater at Opera House theatre under the title of "Globalization, Technology and Society;" Al Fiqi voiced his belief that the breakout of war in the Middle East would not be in the interest of the Middle East peoples.

Al Fiqi pointed out that the Palestinian issue gained the credibility of being a state with Jerusalem as its capital and that the refugees' problem is ready for practical solutions within the framework of international legitimacy.

He asserted that the Palestinians are at two bows' length from their objectives.

He stressed the importance of the Arab economic and financial support for the Palestinians in order to separate between the Palestinian economy and the Israeli one.

He marked that the Israeli collective punishment through besieging the West Bank and Gaza resulted in the unemployment of 130 thousand Palestinians who used to work in Israel to earn their living, which requires providing alternatives in order to help Arabs maintain life on their land.

Within this context, he said that $ 80 million has already reached the Palestinians.

He added that the recent Arab summit was serious; pointing out that it was the only summit that stressed the need for criminalizing Israel's violations through holding an international criminal court.
