Erez negotiations start today, confrontations in the West Bank, One Palestinian killed

Strong confrontations took place on Friday following Friday's prayers especially at the courtyard of al-Aqsa mosque which was cordoned by the Israeli forces since the early hours of Friday.

The Palestinian Intifada youths attacked by stones and bottles the Israeli patrols and strong confrontations erupted at the courtyard of al-Aqsa mosque from the part overlooking al-Aqbat ( Christian) quarters and the Palestinian youths attacked an Israeli patrol near the door of the mosque.

The Palestinian martyr Shaker Hamwi was killed by the Israeli bullets in Hebron while other five were seriously wounded and admitted to hospitals.

The demonstrators in the cities of the west bank chanted slogans in support of resistance and rejecting negotiations with Israel.

Meantime, the chief palestinian negotiator Saeb Oreikat said that the gap is vast between the Palestinians and Israeli sides.

Following Erez's negotiations on Thursday, Oreikat stressed that the Palestinian position is based on finding out obligatory mechanism to implement international legitimacy resolutions provide for Israel's withdrawal until June 4, 1967 border lines and solving the question of the refugees on line of UN resolution 194, noting " the Palestinian side debated this position to the Israeli side and the Israelis said they will come to us in Saturday's meeting.

Oreikat described the current negotiations as sensitive and difficult concerning Jerusalem, the refugees, the waters and the borders which are all critical issues and are internationally documented and should be honored. Oreikat ruled out to have an agreement reached between the two sides before the 20th of this month or February 6th the date of the Israeli elections.

The Palestinian official asserted that peace will not be at any price, rather will be built on what was approved by International legitimacy resolutions.
