AL chief to start an African tour from Libya

The secretary general of the Arab league (AL) Ismat Abdul Miguid has started from Libya a tour in North Africa that will cover also Tunisia and Morocco.

Before he had left Cairo, the AL chief said that the AL backs any move backs the Libyan position in demanding final lifting of sanctions imposed on Libya.

The AL chief added that the question of the sanctions imposed on Libya by the UN Security council at the pressures by the US will occupy top priority in his talks with the Libyan officials, besides latest current developments in the region and the Lockerbie question.

In Tunisia, the AL chief will join the Egyptian foreign minister Amre Mousa to attend the meeting of the Arab follow up committee which includes the foreign ministers of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the Palestinian Authority, Tunisia, Morocco Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Bahrain to discuss latest developments in the Middle East.
