Iraqi vice president visits Cairo
Iraq-Egypt, Politics, 1/11/2001
The Saudi daily al-Watan quoted well-informed diplomatic sources as saying that the Iraqi vice President Taha Yassin Ramadan will pay a visit to Cairo within the few coming days during which he will meet with Egyptian officials.
The sources said that Ramadan will during his visit to Cairo sign several economic agreements with Egypt in the framework of gradual improvement in the relations between the two countries.
The sources attributed the visit of Ramadan's visit to Cairo to the desire of the two sides to end " coolness" in the relations.
However, Cairo's recent decision to organize " charter" flight to Baghdad every Tuesday weekly had the greatest positive impact on the Iraqi officials.
