Saudi, Yemeni committee meets on border issue

It was announced in al-Riyadh on Tuesday that the new round for the meetings of the committee to implement the International border treaty between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, led by the minister of the interior in the two states will be held on January 20.

The Yemeni minister of the Interior Lt. Gen. Muhammad Arab told the Saudi daily al-Jazira on Tuesday that the next meetings of the committee will witness the signature of a contract provides for the implementation of border markers with the company selected for that, in line with the items of the international border treaty between the two countries.

The Saudi and Yemeni sides had agreed to choose a German company to place the border markers between the two states. This was made in the committee's recent meeting which was held by the end of October, 2000.
