Barazani meets with Talebani

The leader of the Kurdistani democratic party Mesout Barazani on Monday met with the leader of the Kurdistani democratic party Jalal al-Talebani, at Salah eddine, the general headquarters for al-Barazani, according to a statement made on Tuesday by the spokesman for the Kurdistani democratic party.

News reports said that this meeting which is taking place for the first time since three years aims at discussing the peace process between the two movements which are sponsored by the US, British and Turkey. The peace process between the two movements has been suspended since September 1998 when Barazani and Talebani signed a peace agreement in Washington to settle their disputes.

Talebani arrived on Monday from Ankara to meet on Tuesday with the Turkish prime minister Polent Acawid.

Worthy mentioning that the Turkish army launches a military operation in north Iraq to provide technical backing for the two movements against the rebellions of the Kurdistani labor party, Some 10,000 Turkey soldiers are taking part in this military operation.
