Saudi defense minister concludes visit to Jordan

Prince Saud al-Faisal, the second deputy for the prime minister, the minister of defense and aviation and the general inspector in Saudi Arabia left Amman on Monday following a visit to Jordan which lasted for two days during which he handed a messaged from King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz to the Jordanian King Abdullah II, relating to bilateral relations and care to strengthening them.

During this visit, prince Sultan held talked with the Jordanian King Abdullah and the prime minister Ali Abu al-Ragheb dealt with various current issues and developments during which the two sides stressed care to foster joint bilateral and defense relations and the exchange of visits between the two states.

The two sides asserted Jordan's backing to the Palestinian Arab people to restore their legitimate rights and establish their own independent states with holy Jerusalem as a capital and the attempt to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the region.

At the airport, the Saudi prince was seen off by King Abdullah who asked the Saudi prince to convey his greetings and good wishes to King Fahd and to the crown prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz.

In a pre-departure statement to pressmen prince Sultan described Saudi- Jordanian relations as solid, remarkable and historical and " we will continue to back these relations in the services and their common interests and to our region and Arab identity." Prince Sultan added that he had discussed during his visit with the Jordanian King and the prime minister Ali Abu al-Ragheb matters serve the interests of the two states and the good of Arabs and Muslims.
