Minister blames corruption on red tape

The Moroccan minister of administrative reform blamed corruption in the country on bureaucracy and complex administrative procedure.
M'hamed Al-Khalifa told the second TV channel 2M it was necessary to abolish illegal privileges and to base any decision on sound, objective criteria in order to moralize public service.
Morocco marked Saturday a national day to fight corruption, which has become rampant in public service.
