Chirac: no peace without Syria and Lebanon

France President Jacques Chirac has announced that peace will not be attainable in the Middle East region without Syria and Lebanon. He stressed that his country backs peace efforts in the region and its seek to resume the negotiations.
During his meeting on Thursday the ambassadors accredited to France at the Elysee Palace to offer him congratulations on the feats, the French President said " we have to always call to achieving peace as soon as possible."
The French President underlined the importance of the American role in the Middle East peace process and stressed the readiness of the European Union to ensure useful and effective participation in the question of peace through following efforts made to achieve it.
