January 4 , 2001 Sainsburry: No withdrawal from Egyptian Market

International Sainsbury's officials in London said the company is considering the future of Egypt's Sainsbury and it didn't withdraw from the Egyptian market. In statements to Al Ahram correspondent in London, a spokeswoman for Beter Davis the manager of the company, said there are three alternatives: selling or development or entering into joint projects.
She added there are 106 big stores in Egypt until October 1999 where about 2500 persons work making profits totaling 11million sterling pound.
