Al-Assad gets message from Sultan Qabous, confers with Lebanese figures

President Bashar al-Assad on Tuesday at 10 a.m. received Sheikh Hilal Bin Salem al-Sayabi, Oman's ambassador in Damascus, who handed him a message from Sultan Qabous Bin Saeed on issues of concern to Syria and Oman.
The President received at the Damascus al-Shaab palace patriarch Aram 1st Catholicos of the Armenian- Orthodox church for Kelekya.
Talks dealt with historical relations between the Armenian people and the Syrian people as well as conditions and developments in Lebanon and issues of concern to Syria and Lebanon.
The patriarch expressed Armenian thanks where ever they do exist for Syria for what it has given to the Armenians throughout history.
Later, the President received the Lebanese Mufti Sheikh Muhammad Rashid Qabbani and talks dealt with conditions in the region and issues of concern to Syria and Lebanon.
Sheikh Qabbani expressed his appreciation for Syria's national stances and her fraternal backing to Lebanon.
