Pumping Iraqi oil into Syria needs a Syrian decision

An Iraqi official at the foreign ministry has stated in a statement to the London ­ based al Sharq al-Awsat daily issued Saturday that pumping the Iraqi oil into Syria is waiting a Syrian decision to this effect.

He added that the pipeline is ready for operation since October, and thereby the Iraqi official " implicitly" denies reports which said that the Iraqi oil have started to flow through this pipeline.

He added that the Syrian leadership has to decided when the oil pipeline will be used and explained that Syria has her own political calculations which " we honor " and that talks are still continuous between the two sides at the political level and the technical level in this regard.
