Sudan, Politics, 12/23/2000
Omar Nour al-Dayem the first deputy for the President of the Sudanese al-Ummah party which is led by al-Sadeq al-Mahdi has stressed that the whole Sudanese people do accept the peaceful political solution in the country.
In a statement to the Sudanese daily al-Anbaa issued Saturday Nour al-Dayem explained that signing a final agreement with the government is nearby and that negotiations were settled on issues pertaining to peace and democracy in the country as well as other matters pertaining to foreign policy and the form of the rule.
Nour al-Dayem denied the existence of a trend inside al-Ummah party that refuses negotiations with the government. He explained there is no such a trend, rather individuals who still oppose ( negotiations with the government) noting that the party's masses have said their say and made up its decision in backing the " call of the homeland" and in authorizing the leadership( of al-Ummah party) to proceed into the negotiations.
