Chinese official delegation flies to Baghdad
Iraq-China, Politics, 12/22/2000
A Chinese official delegation left on Friday Beijing for Baghdad on a plane carrying humanitarian assistance to Iraq, reports Chinese news agency Xhinua. Led by the state councilor (minister without portfolio), the delegation comprises top officials from foreign, external trade and health departments and representatives of the Red Cross.
Since the International Saddam Airport re-opened last August 17, flights of the same kind have intensified as part of initiatives to break the ten-year long embargo on the Arab country.
