Morocco confirms status of prized place for call-centers

A high-level Moroccan delegation met inParis early this week at the Deloitte Consulting firm seat with major French groups in telecommunications, insurance, banking and retail to look into conditions for more call-centers installation in the kingdom.
Moroccan officials led by the adviser to the king André Azoulay and secretary of state of telecommunications and new technologies Nasser Hajji underscored the kingdom assets in telecommunication equipment and infrastructure as well as other perks in fiscal legislation and choice human resources.
Azoulay told MAP he and other delegation members, expounded the kingdom strategy for new high value-added trades in technologies, knowledge and telecommunications insisting the major incentives to attract call-centers to the country are competitive costs. National human resources have administered proof the country could be a hub of expertise, competence, productivity and competitiveness, he said.
Morocco is ready to be part of the information and communication technologies revolution, Azoulay insisted adding a similar initiative will be initiated early 2001 with Spanish firms on a second stage of the campaign meant to conquer outside markets such as Spain, England, the Netherlands and the United States.
