US $ 930 million, Saudi aids to Somalia

President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt has renewed his country's commitment to backing Arab rights in Israel's complete withdrawal from the occupied Golan heights, Jerusalem and all occupied Palestinian territories up to June 4, 1967 border lines. An official at the Egyptian Airline company said that the company will start weekly Charter flights to Baghdad after Eid al-Fiter. The official who asked not to be identified added that that the flight will be reorganized to Baghdad every each Tuesday after Eid al-Fiter, but he did not set a date for the beginning of the flights. Well-informed sources in Algiers said on Wednesday that four of the special guards of former Algerian President Elamine Zeroual were killed when their car crashed on Wednesday evening between the two cities of Burj Buereij and al-Buweira ( 120 Km to the east of the capital). The sources added that the former President had no harm in the accident which took place when he was heading for the capital where he used to meet several political and military figures at the security resort of Mouriti on the coastal area of Algiers. The living cost index increased by 1.8% compared to the previous month, says the statistics department in its latest newsletter. During the period extending between Jan-Oct.2000, variation rate of the index rose by 1.8% compared to the figure of last year, says the source. Go

Two major trade unions, CDT and UGTM, have called workers in all sectors of activity of the Office Chérifien Des Phosphates (OCP) group to a 48 hour general strike on January 3, said a release of the unions' bureaus.
