Suez Canal posts best revenues of its history

Chairman of Egypt's Suez canal authority Ahmad Ali Fadhel Tuesday said the Suez canal has achieved this year the best revenues since it was opened in 1879.
This year's revenues amounted to $ 1.94 billion dollars this year against 1.83 billion dollars last year recorded an increase, adding revenues are expected to be worth $ 2.1 billion by end December.
Crossing fees would remain unchanged, he told a news conference. Daily average number of ships passing through the suez canal were 38.
Up to 14,131 ships sailed through the canal this year, 641 ships more than last year.
