Living cost index increases by 1.8% in october

The living cost index increased by 1.8% compared to the previous month, says the statistics department in its latest newsletter. During the period extending between Jan-Oct.2000, variation rate of the index rose by 1.8% compared to the figure of last year, says the source.

The variation is mainly due to foodstuffs whose index progressed by 3.8% while products other than non-foodstuffs saw their index slightly rise by 0.2%.
