Cim: Syrian- Turkish relations are good

Turkey's foreign minister Ismael Cim has stressed that Syrian- Turkish relations are proceeding well in various political and economic areas.
During his meeting on Wednesday with the Syrian media, Cim added that the two neighboring countries can achieve more in the area of boosting bilateral relations.
Cim added that efforts are being currently made to draw a common understanding between the two countries, underlined the need of maintaining closer relations between the Syrian and Turkish peoples for serving positive objectives especially in the areas of the economy and tourism and in the field of energy, economic integration and security cooperation. He added that economic measures that are being taken in Syria will contribute to strengthening relations between the two countries in various fields would be of positive reflections on the countries of the region and on Syria's relations with world's countries.
Cim continued that Turkey is with the establishment of a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East, according to international legitimacy resolutions. He explained that his country considers al-Aqsa mosque as a very sensitive issue for it and for the Islamic states, noting Turkey's readiness to play a role in the ME peace process if it will be asked to do so.
The Syria media delegation, currently in a one- week visit to Turkey met with the director of the Middle East department at the Turkish foreign ministry who stressed that there is a joint political will for both countries to crystallize and boost bilateral relations. The Turkish official added that there I a solid and legal ground available to develop economic relations. He added that two agreements will be signed on avoidance of double- taxation, encouraging and protecting investment as well as establishing a businessmen council between the two countries will all pave the way for increasing the volume of trade exchange.
