Egypt-Palestine, Politics, 12/21/2000
President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt has renewed his country's commitment to backing Arab rights in Israel's complete withdrawal from the occupied Golan heights, Jerusalem and all occupied Palestinian territories up to June 4, 1967 border lines. In statements issued in Cairo on Wednesday, the Egyptian president stressed the Arab identity of Jerusalem and not to give up the legitimate Palestinian rights.
He explained that just and comprehensive peace requires tangible steps based on israel's implementation of UN Security Council resolutions 242 and 338 noting that peace does not mean giving up or bargaining Arab rights.
