Al-Aqsa Sheikh for continued Intifada
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 12/21/2000

The preacher of al-Aqsa mosque Sheikh Sabri Ikramah has underlined the importance of continuously backing the al-Aqsa Intifada until the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establishing of the Palestinian state with Jerusalem as a capital.

In a statement issued on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi Sheikh Ikramah added " for that reason we have to fight and sacrifice what is valuable apart from the negotiation attempts that are being made at the meantime."

He stressed all Israeli suggestions aiming at Judaizing occupied Jerusalem or internationalizing it.

He said that the right of the Arabs and Muslims to al-Aqsa Mosque is unwavering at all levels, noting that Israel has failed to prove its false claims in that Suleiman temple ( Haikal Suleiman) is under al-Aqsa mosque. He said that these claims are not based on historical or archaeological evidence.
