Egypt's investment climate promising

German businessmen and investors said that the investment opportunities in Egypt are promising and very distinguished, noting that the stage is set before increase of German investments, particularly in the field of industry, tourism and communications.

German businessmen told visiting German Defence Minister Rudolf Scharping, in a meeting organized by the German-Arab chamber of commerce and industry Tuesday, that the Egyptian government has taken several sound measures in the past few months to remove obstacles before investors in order to increase exports for foreign markets.

They also noted that their investments in Egypt at present are estimated at billions of pounds, voicing confidence in Egypt political and economic stability.

They said that Egypt hosts the biggest German businessmen community in the Middle East region, adding the German-Arab chamber is providing great facilities to increase German investments in Egypt.

Scharping inquired about the climate of investment and trade in Egypt, stressing the importance of establishing peace in the middle east region to realize high growth rates and enhance investments in the area.
