Morocco and Slovakia sign protocol for consultations between foreign ministers

Foreign ministers of Morocco and Slovakia, Mohamed Benaissa and Eduard Kukan, signed in Rabat on Monday an agreement instituting periodic consultations between the two heads of diplomacy.

The agreement, signed following a meeting between the two ministers, provides for encounters and consultations over international and regional issues at least once a year. The two foreign ministers will be seeking, through periodic meetings, the organizing and deepening of bilateral cooperation in political, economic, scientific, cultural and technical fields.

The meetings will also deal with issues related to security and cooperation in Europe and the Mediterranean region.

The Slovak official who arrived Sunday night in Morocco for a first visit by a Slovak foreign minister to Morocco also conferred with premier Abderrahmane Youssoufi, minister of agriculture, rural development, water and forests, Ismail Alaoui and speaker of the Chamber of Advisors (upper chamber) Mustapha Okacha.

Kukan will be leaving Morocco this Tuesday.
