Moroccan official Calls for IT Generalization by 2002

Morocco's Secretary in charge of posts and information and telecommunication technologies, Nasr Hajji, stressed on Friday night the importance of generalizing new information and communication technologies in Morocco in 2002.

The official who attended the signing of an agreement on electronic trade between a Moroccan private school and the French university Lille 2 said Morocco will face three crucial dates: 2002 when new technologies should be generalized, 2005 date for Morocco to reach international standards and 2010 when all the country should improve its competitiveness in the field and fully integrate information society.

He also recalled three convention were signed between the handicraft department and three enterprises for the promotion e-trade use by handicraft cooperatives.
