Greater Rabbi for Eastern Jews backs Israeli concessions even in Jerusalem

Israel's Greater Rabbi for East Jews ( Safardim) Eliaho Pakshi Doroun has announced during a visit to the Jewish community in Singapore that he " very much" backs giving concessions that can bring back peace to the Middle East even if these concessions stated: giving up parts of Jerusalem."

But Pakshi noted that Israel should not give up holy shrines for the Jewish people in Jerusalem, especially "Jabal al-Haikal" area ( al-Aqsa Mosque).

He said in press statements that "Jabal al-Haikal is the heart of the Jewish people. It is a thing that can not be given up."

He called for resuming contacts between the Muslim men of religion and the Jews in order to prevent political conflicts in the Middle East to be a game at the hands of religious extremists.

He explained that the current confrontation in the Palestinian territories should be " calmed" so as to start such contacts.
