King Mohammed confers with US Mid-East Emissary Ross

Morocco's King Mohammed VI, accompanied by Prince Moulay Rachid, conferred here Tuesday with visiting US emissary for the Middle-East Dennis Ross.

Ross was accompanied by close aides and ambassador Edward Gabriel while on the Moroccan side the royal audience was attended by foreign affairs and cooperation minister Mohamed Benaissa and Adviser to the king André Azoulay.

Ross later told the press he discussed with King Mohammed VI the situation prevailing in the region and efforts exerted to stop confrontations between Palestinians and Israelis and achieve peace.

Means to level down existing difficulties and make progress should be found, said Ross who arrived in Rabat the same day for a meeting with president Yasser Arafat.
