President Wade voices hope Morocco would build new Dakar airport
Morocco-Senegal, Economics, 12/12/2000
Senegalese president Abdoulay Wade voiced hope Morocco would build the Keur Massar airport of Dakar.
Wade said on radio and television American and Saudi firms were interested by the huge undertaking of building an international airport, 20 KM from the capital, recalling how he promised the contract to Morocco and that he could not recant his word given the ties existing between him and King Mohammed VI.
The president said the financing is all wrapped up and suggested the possibility of associating a Saudi firm in carrying out the project so dear to him.
