List of detained Lebanese in Syria has not been sent yet

The attorney general in Lebanon told the Monte Carlo radio on Monday that the Syrian officials did not send to the officials in Lebanon a list in the names of Lebanese detainees in the Syrian jails.

A matter which makes it not easy to discuss this list after it was rumored that the official number of those detainees is only 45.

He added that the work of the special committee on the detainees will be limit to discussing this official number while lists of unofficial civilian and military commissions and organization indicate that there are more than 260 Lebanese missing or detained in Syria. And this will open an official and people debate on this matter.

The Monte Carlo radio correspondent in Beirut said that circles of the Lebanese committee expected following its meeting on Friday to release a statement that makes a distinction between the Lebanese detainees in Syria and the missing Lebanese for civil reasons since the civil war in lebanon in an attempt to put an end to one of the most critical and vague Syrian- Lebanese files.
