Sudan and Eritrea have agreed not to escalate stances and to maintain the process of normalizing relations between the two countries, following the visit made by President Omar Hassan al-Bashir to Asmara and the visit of President Asyas Afourki to Sudan.
A high ranking Sudanese official told the Sudanese daily al- Khartoum issued on Friday that contacts were made between Asmara and al-Khartoum at the level of foreign ministers that stressed the need of attempts made by the two sides to eliminate all reasons that obstructs the breakthrough in the relations between the two countries.
This agreement, however, came after the Sudanese security forces on Wednesday arrested leading figures of the opposition members inside the country and following news which talked about Eritrean military build up on the Sudanese eastern borders beside the forces of the rebellions and the opposition.
