Morocco, amnesty international sign cooperation accord
Morocco, Culture, 12/9/2000

Morocco and the Moroccan section of Amnesty International on Friday signed a cooperation accord, meant mainly to deepen people's knowledge of human rights.

The accord, signed on the occasion of the occasion of the 52nd anniversary of the Universal Human Rights Declaration, seeks to foster the population's awareness on human rights violations and on the importance of the mechanisms destined to protecting these rights.

Mohamed Sektaoui, head of the Moroccan section of Amnesty International, said the accord is a major stride towards the enlarging of human rights education.

On the same occasion, the government signed another accord with the Democratic Association of the Women of Morocco (ADF) meant to consolidate and propagate the culture of gender equality.
