Leader of the " United Somali conference" Othman Hassan Ali " ( Atu) on Wednesday called on the Libyan government, which contributed to the equipment of the police force formed by the provisional government in Makadishu to stop its interventions in his country's internal affairs.
A plan carrying equipment for the forces of President Abdi Qasem Salat arrived last week at Makadishu's airport.
In a statement to pressmen Atu said that the Libyan policy will lead to raising acts of hostilities in Somalia, noting that Libya" has sent to us military equipment, a thing which will lead to the eruption of new battles between the tribes." A national society, formed during the national reconciliation conference in Djibouti, appointed Salat Hassan as a President for the country in August.
Hassan's government wins " certain pockets" in the already divided capital into sectors with each of them falls under the control of a certain group. Atu is one of the war leaders existed in Makadishu and he is strongly opposing the new President.
Atu who arrived on Monday to Makadishu from Yemen announced that he had reviewed with war leader Hussein Muhammad Aided proposals on the Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh to convene a national reconciliation conference in Somalia.
He added that " the brotherly leader agreed our proposals." Atu also warned the citizens from the Libyan government which he described as " supporting aggressive acts through backing a certain camp of the warring groups in the country.
On Tuesday evening, the Somali President told Djibouti television that Atu and Aided agreed to have their supporters recruited in a Somali national army and their two camps to take part in the new government.
However, Atu denied such an agreement.
